Our focus at Tartaruga is on making physical releases. We want to make beautiful objects that you can hold, unfold, look at and pass around. And listen to, of course.

Our releases have mostly been CD albums, with screenprinted card sleeves and handmade inserts. We also occasionally make and sell screenprinted t-shirts and posters, all available on this website.

However, we are also keen to ensure that our releases are as widely-heard as possible. We have sold all our releases as digital downloads almost since the beginning, on itunes, amazon, and most other places too.

From now on, the principal place we will be selling digital releases is via Bandcamp.
We like the way it works, the interface, the option to download in different formats (mp3, wav, flac, etc), and the ease-of-use, both for us, and for you. It is a more direct way of us to sell our releases, and by purchasing through there you are supporting the label and our artists in a more direct way.

Releases will still be available on itunes and elsewhere - it simply doesn't make sense to restrict ourselves to one site. However, we would encourage you to use bandcamp where possible. Releases will also be available there before anywhere else. Of course, we would encourage you even more to buy our CDs....
